IMA Caribbean asserts anyone can learn how to earn extra income.

Worldwide there are cries to empower youth because “they are the future.” With globalization, it is becoming ever more difficult to find a job and secure it for a lengthy period. Every market and field is more competitive and rest assured, should you falter, there is always someone ready and willing to fill your shoes.

Internet Marketing Association of the Caribbean is determined to give St Lucians a fighting chance in today’s job market, encouraging them to embrace e-business. The organization also aims to act as a guide and provide interested persons with the tools necessary to succeed. Described as forward thinking, the initiative has been endorsed by members of St Lucian society but the group asks for more support in order to propel the movement.

At a recent press conference at the Leader of the Opposition, Dr Kenny Anthony’s law office, one of the directors of IMA Caribbean, Choix Melchoir, told of an upcoming symposium aimed at curbing the ills of society by exposing youth to people who have excelled in e-business. The organization hopes it will pique interest and stop idle hands from destroying the nation. It’s the first of its kind for IMA Caribbean, but the Internet Marketing Seminar was held over two days, February 6 and 7.

“We believe that the Internet is a most powerful medium that can most adequately provide for the economic development of our people,” Melchoir said. In explaining the concept of the organization, he stated: “We seek to bring all the relevant skills, training and education to empower our members, mentally, spiritually and financially. We promote economic well-being, education and self-empowerment for everyone in the Caribbean and beyond, by promoting practical and financially feasible systems that can be available to everyone, without favour.” It is with this in mind that the organization has been endorsed by Dr Anthony as well as Dr Stephen King of RISE, CIE’s Rayneau Gadjadhar and Jessica Jacobie, the first visually impaired St Lucian to make it all the way to the University of the West Indies. At that launch, Melchoir revealed his efforts to get the government aboard have been slow but understandably “the government cannot do everything.” With this in mind, he appealed to more established groups to rally around the project. He called for CAFRA, SLISBA, SLHTA and the Chamber of Commerce to come together and endorse the initiative.

Unfortunately, it may take more than he anticipated to get the project off the ground. Melchoir told the STAR despite the publicity given to the seminar, there was a low turnout and didn’t go as expected. The goal of the event was to let people know that there are other ways to earn some extra income that are legal and ethical. By using the Internet and a proven system, IMA Caribbean asserts anyone can learn how to earn extra income. The group brought in experts from the United States to share their knowledge and experience with participants at the seminar, among them Stephen Pierce, the World’s number one internet wealth advocate, Adam Ginsberg, a best selling author and Kirk Elliott, an accomplished local photographer.
